Ira Sollace is a native Vermonter. All Ira's bowls and platters are made from native Vermont wood, and mostly harvested from our land. Each piece is individually turned with green (still moist wood) taking care to reveal the special characteristic of the wood. As the wood dries through time, it may slightly change shape creating an even more unique piece of art.
The pieces are finished with food safe polymerized tung oil. Regular maintenance consist of a thorough washing with soap and warm water. After washing completely dry. If the piece starts to lose its shine apply a coat of polymerized tung oil as directed on label.
